Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days, by Jeff Kinney

The boy was playing his video games with the lights off with some bags of chips and two cans of power juice.  His mom came into his room and said: You should really let some sunlight in here... So he went to his friend Rowley's house.  Rowley's family was starting a country club.  I liked the part when he was playing the video game.

Football

Football!

My book is about football.  My favorite part is when Johnson runs for the game-winning two-point conversion but Johnson made the touchdown and that is the end.  It is about football players that are in the Super Bowl and that is the beginning.  On page 8 is when the Steelers have been in the NFL and that is in the middle.

Milk Snakes

Milk Snakes, by Heather Feldman

The milk snakes are not called milk snakes because they give milk.  They are called milk snakes for a reason.  A farmer saw a snake go inside the farm and he thought the snake was looking for some mice but when the farmer went to get some milk from the cow and the cow was empty, he thought the snake drank the milk and he called the snake a milk snake.  My favorite part was when he saw the snake.

Horrible Harry and the Dragon War

Horrible Harry and the Dragon War, by Suzy Kline

It is about a boy named Doug.  He is in Room 3B.  Usually Doug writes stories about his best friend.  The next hour was deadly.  Nobody laughed or talked.  My favorite part was when they made the dragon.

The Hockey Girls

The Hockey Girls, by Scott Corbett

The beginning of the book is where two girls don't want to be in a sport program.  The middle is when they think about it and then they sign up and then they have first practice.  In the end they're in their first hockey game.  I thought it was good and funny.

Lilly's Big Day

Lilly's Big Day, by Kevin Henkes

I like Lilly's Big Day a lot.  Lilly is trying to practice being the flower girl.  She practiced all day and all night.  She thought it will be the biggest day of her life.  So when it was time for dinner, her dad asked, "Who are you pretending to be tonight?"  Asked Lilly's mother and father at dinner.  "I'm not pretending," said Lilly.  "I'm a flower girl."  "Who's getting married?" asked her father.  "Mr. Slinger."  And this is the end of the story: Mr. Slinger got married.  The end is that the story is about Lilly practicing to be a flower girl.

No Matter What

No Matter What, by Debi Gliori

Small was feeling really grumpy and not happy.  Small was pretending to be a crocodile in the tub.  Small and Largie both look at the stars before bedtime.  My favorite part was when Small asked Largie, "Does love wear out?"  What I thought about the book was it was really really AWESOME because it taught me a lesson about LOVING my family.

How Rocket Learned to Read

How Rocket Learned to Read, by Tad Hills

How Rocket Learned to Read is fiction.  It's not real.  A bird can't talk and a dog can't talk and that is what makes it not real because animals can't talk.  How Rocket Learned to Read is fiction.  It is not non-fiction.  Rocket saw a sign and Rocket couldn't read the sign.  A bird comes and teaches Rocket to read.  Rocket learns to read.

The Cay

The Cay, by Theodore Taylor

Phillip and Timothy were the main characters.  The settings were the island and a boat.  The genre is realistic fiction.  One detail is that Timothy was black and he was blind.  The second detail is that Phillip was guiding Timothy.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules, by Jeff Kinney

My book is Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules.  It is the most funny book I have ever read.  My book is fiction.  My setting of this book is inside.  I think it is good.  The beginning is when Gregory is at swim practice.  The middle is when they sit on a ball.  The end is when they sell candy.
