The Science Book of Magnets

The Science Book of Magnets, by Neil Ardley
Illustrated by Peter Bailey
Published by Harcourt Brace and Co in 1991

This book is about magnets.  A magnet easily picks up a paper clip.  Paper clips are made of steel and steel is attracted to magnets.  Magnets have a force that you can not see that pulls things toward them or away.  Magnets are used in many electric motors and many toys.  They can power most things like planes, trains, and cars.  The Earth itself is a huge big gigantic force of magnetism.  You can play and do projects with magnets.  Magnets can bring other magnets together.  There are two sides of a magnet, which are the north and south.  If they are borth on the same force they will not connect.
